MOLOKENG (JOSHUA) BILLY Born 1949 Alexandra, Johannesburg Molokeng is a painter of figures, heads and abstract pictures. Works in oil, watercolour, gouache, conte’, pencil and charcoal. In 1971 he studied under Peter Eliastam. Molokeng has also designed tapestries and made leather sandals and belts. He is a music composer and a singer under the name of “Billy Africa”. In 1968 at the Dorkey House, Braamfontein, Johannesburg was held his first of seven Solo Exhibitions. He has participated in several group exhibitions from 1971 in SA, Israel, West Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and Italy. In 1981 he received the Republic Festival Painting Award. He is represented in the University Of Fort Hare.
