Francois stays in the picturesque eastern Free State in a small  town called Reitz is obvious in his paintings that he loves Africa and in particular the Eastern Free State. His bold and unique way of painting and his thick and colourful application of paint is typical of his work. His paintings are instantly recognisable amongst others.

Francoise has many ex South African fans overseas who buy his paintings as a bold reminder of Africa. His Days in the  SADF have a definite influence on his portrayal of small missionary stations and African villages. He has a number of invitations to exhibit overseas. Art dealers export a great number of his work. Francois is a well known and highly respected in the art circles of South Africa. Francois  is a happy and proud to be, South African.
